EFW J4 TEXT RESULTS

Text results from the EFW J4 Show on July 4th, 2008:

Dark Match
Carlos Anderson def. Hans -
Anderson won via Impact STO. Said to be an ok match.

Main Card

Homeless Hank def. Justin Springer to become the new EFW Hardcore Champion -
Springer's quest to wipe out the "cartoon characters of EFW" came to a halt at the J4 show when the technically-sound Rockstar Mafia member lost his EFW Hardcore Title to former champion Homeless Hank. The majority of the match was spent outside of the ring brawling on the outside part with Hank's brawling style getting the better of Springer at times. Hank won by pinfall following a Stink Bomb on a set of chairs. It appeared that Springer injured his arm on the descent by landing on a chair elbow first. He is said to be ok and will continue to wrestle wearing an arm brace.

Mike Envy def. Ocho Gato to retain the EFW North American Title - Already slated for his tag team title opportunity later in the evening, Envy was able to successfully defend against Ocho Gato although getting busted open in the process. Megan Larae made a difference in the outcome interfering early on in the matchup but was soon countered by Gato's tag team partner Pink Elephant. Later in the match Ocho Gato hit a picture perfect moonsault for only a 2 count and later countered into a small package but a rope break was called. Envy finished off the match by nailing a Vanity Killer and the subsequent pinfall for the win.

Dick Handsome def. El Macho Lobsto, Chad Hotti, Jamal Darnell, GarrettSYCO, and Dylan Royal to win the "Beat the Dick Challenge"

This was an open invitation sent by Diamond Dave that anyone who could defeat his bodyguard Dick Handsome would receive an EFW LH Title match directly following the match:

1) El Macho Lobsto was defeated by pinfall following a FACIAL! from Dick Handsome.
2) Diamond Dave interfered in the match against Hotti after Handsome was having some difficulty putting away his opponent. Handsome won following a top rope splash and pinfall.
3) Diamond Dave stayed on the outside against Jamal and helped in some ringside assistance. Handsome pinned Jamal Darnell after a FACIAL!
4) Handsome won by countout against Garrett when Diamond Dave continued his outside attack following a Dick Handsome belly-to-belly throw against the ring apron.
5) While celebrating the supposed win, Dylan Royal jumped the rail leading to an impromptu handicap match. Handsome nailed the FACIAL! on Royal followed by Diamond Dave's Shiny Wizzard for the pinfall.

Rockstar Mafia (Mike Envy/Steve Cabana) def. Sean Broman/Warrant to become the new EFW Tag Team Champions - Earlier in the night Envy was able to retain his singles gold and in this match picked up for the loss of the Hardcore title by Springer by defeating Sean Broman & Warrant. Experience played a huge part in the outcome as from the start the R*M was the aggressor in the match. All four competitors spilled to the outside where weapons were involved, a nice advantage of title defenses being no DQ and no countout, and lead to bleeding from all four from various weapon shots. The match ended when Cabana leveled Warrant with a sledgehammer, Envy blasted Broman in the corner with a chair, and Cabana made the cover for the win. Because Envy now holds two EFW titles, he is in violation of the double title rule and must decide on which title to keep and which to forfeit before the next EFW show.

Casey Chase def. The Puma to become the #1 Contender for the EFW World Title - The match was originally scheduled to be that following the match Smitty would face the winner for the title. Citing a large gash on the face of Casey Chase after the initial match, ringside doctors deemed Casey unable to participate in the subsequent title opportunity as the referee declared Smitty the winner by default. The match itself was a technical masterpiece and definitely one that should make it onto video shortly. The match started out as a cat-and-mouse game between Casey and The Puma with the EFW World Champion Smitty at ringside. Casey was able to briefly subdue Puma with a springboard axehandle that lead to a running DDT. Casey turned his attention Smitty with a diving leg drop that connected on the champion, no doubt in an attempt to get an advantage in the following bout. Smitty fired back with a spear on Casey in retaliation as the match moved back inside the ring. Puma and Casey went back and forth until Casey hit a roll up for only a 1 count. They then traded submission holds until the action spilled outside again with Casey hitting a chairshot and a plancha. Smitty intervened again throwing Casey into the ring steps. Puma went after Casey with a running plancha but Casey moved out of the way. Smitty blindsided Casey with a facebuster that busted Casey wide open. Casey got his revenge by throwing Smitty back into the ring and nailing a Case Cutter on the champion. Puma's kick accidentally caught the referee in the face and Casey nailed Puma into the corner turnbuckle, followed by a Case Cutter on the referee that will no doubt question the antics of the former 3-time Tag Team champion. With the referee revived, the fight went back outside where Casey grabbed the ring bell. Puma quickly took it from him but fell victim to a sick running DDT on the ring bell that busted Puma wide open. After grabbing a chair Casey hit a top rope back suplex with Puma's arm landing very close to the chair and chose to inflict more damage to his opponent. Casey missed on a diving clothesline as Puma locked in an arm submission that almost lead to a tapout. Casey fought out of it and hit a second-rope Case Cutter and went up top for a frog splash but Puma moved out of the way. Puma locked in the arm submission again but Casey refused to give up. Casey grabbed another chair and smashed it over the head of Puma, further opening the lasceration on Puma's head. Casey attempted a powerbomb but was reversed into a DDT. Casey nailed a running DDT followed by the diving leg drop, then a Case Cutter onto Puma to complete the trifecta and pickup the win.
